Formed in English from sanction + the agentive suffix -er (“one who does”). The base sanction comes via French from Latin sanctio (“decree; ordinance”), from sancire (“to make sacred; to decree”).
ইংরেজিতে sanction শব্দের সঙ্গে কর্মকারক প্রত্যয় -er (“যে করে/যে ব্যক্তি”) যোগ করে গঠিত। sanction এসেছে ফরাসি হয়ে লাতিন sanctio (“ফরমান/বিধান”) থেকে, যা sancire (“পবিত্র/অলঙ্ঘ্য করা; বিধিবদ্ধ করা”) ধাতু থেকে উদ্ভূত।
Definition
A sanctioner is someone (or an institution) that gives official permission/approval to something, or that imposes a penalty (a sanction) to enforce rules, laws, or standards.
sanctioner হলো এমন ব্যক্তি বা প্রতিষ্ঠান যে কোনো কিছুকে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে অনুমোদন/অনুমতি দেয়, অথবা নিয়ম-কানুন/আইন/মানদণ্ড প্রয়োগ করতে শাস্তিমূলক নিষেধাজ্ঞা আরোপ করে।
