Origin & History
From New Latin rubella (“little red”), diminutive of Latin ruber (“red”); the name refers to the reddish rash.
নিউ লাতিন rubella (“ছোট লাল/হালকা লাল”) থেকে এসেছে, যা লাতিন ruber (“লাল”) শব্দের ক্ষুদ্রতর রূপ; নামটি রোগে হওয়া লালচে ফুসকুড়িকে নির্দেশ করে।
Definition
Rubella is a contagious viral infection, usually mild in children and adults, marked by a pink/red rash, low fever, and swollen lymph nodes; however, infection during early pregnancy can lead to congenital rubella syndrome and severe fetal complications.
রুবেলা একটি সংক্রামক ভাইরাসজনিত সংক্রমণ; শিশু ও প্রাপ্তবয়স্কদের ক্ষেত্রে সাধারণত মৃদু, যেখানে গোলাপি/লালচে ফুসকুড়ি, হালকা জ্বর এবং লিম্ফ নোড ফোলা দেখা যায়; তবে গর্ভাবস্থার শুরুতে সংক্রমণ হলে জন্মগত রুবেলা সিনড্রোমসহ ভ্রূণের গুরুতর জটিলতা হতে পারে।
