উদ্যানতাত্ত্বিক যৌগিক শব্দ root + bound (অর্থ ‘বাঁধা/সীমাবদ্ধ’); টবের ভেতরে শিকড়ের সীমাবদ্ধ অবস্থাকে বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত, আধুনিক বাগানচর্চার ভাষায় (২০শ শতক থেকে) প্রচলিত।
Definition
Describing a potted plant whose roots have filled the container, circling and crowding so much that growth and water/nutrient uptake are restricted; repotting or root-pruning is often needed.
টব বা পাত্রের ভেতরে গাছের শিকড় অতিরিক্ত বেড়ে গিয়ে পাক খেতে খেতে ঠাসাঠাসি অবস্থায় চলে আসা, ফলে স্বাভাবিক বৃদ্ধি ও পানি/পুষ্টি শোষণ বাধাগ্রস্ত হয়; সাধারণত বড় টবে লাগানো বা শিকড় ছাঁটাই করা দরকার।
