From roll (a rolled-up list or register of names) + call (the act of calling names aloud); used especially in military and school contexts since the 18th–19th centuries.

Definition
A roll-call is when names are read out from a list and each person responds to show they are present (commonly in schools, meetings, the military, or official events); it can also mean a list of famous or important people/things.
রোল-কল হলো তালিকা থেকে একে একে নাম ডেকে উপস্থিতি যাচাই করা (সাধারণত স্কুল, সভা, সামরিক বা সরকারি অনুষ্ঠানে); রূপক অর্থে এটি খ্যাতিমান/গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ব্যক্তি বা বিষয়ের একটি তালিকাকেও বোঝায়।
