ইংরেজি river (নদী) + bed (শয্যা/ভিত্তি/তল) থেকে গঠিত; এখানে bed বলতে কোনো কিছুর নিচের ভিত্তি বা তলদেশ বোঝায়।
Definition
The riverbed is the ground at the bottom of a river—the natural channel made of sand, gravel, rocks, or mud where the river’s water flows; it does not include the riverbanks.
নদীর তলদেশ বা নদীর প্রবাহপথের নিচের মাটির/পাথুরে অংশ—যেখানে পানি প্রবাহিত হয় (বা আগে প্রবাহিত হত); এতে নদীর তীর (bank) অন্তর্ভুক্ত নয়।
