Definition
Retinas are the light-sensitive layers at the back of the eyes; they contain photoreceptor cells (rods and cones) that turn light into electrical signals carried to the brain via the optic nerve.
রেটিনা হলো চোখের ভেতরে (পেছনের দিকে) থাকা আলো-সংবেদনশীল স্তর; এতে রড ও কোণ (cones) নামের ফোটোরিসেপ্টর কোষ থাকে, যা আলোকে বৈদ্যুতিক স্নায়ুসংকেতে রূপান্তর করে এবং অপটিক নার্ভের মাধ্যমে মস্তিষ্কে পাঠায়।
