Origin & History

Formed from the prefix re- ('again') + stitch; used in modern English for sewing again to repair or reattach.

re- (অর্থ ‘আবার’) উপসর্গ + stitch থেকে গঠিত; আধুনিক ইংরেজিতে মেরামত বা পুনরায় জোড়া লাগাতে ‘আবার সেলাই করা’ অর্থে ব্যবহৃত।
