From earlier English remittance, from Latin remittere (“to send back, send again; relax”), from re- (“back”) + mittere (“to send”).
ইংরেজি remittance শব্দটি লাতিন remittere থেকে এসেছে, যার অর্থ “ফিরিয়ে/পুনরায় পাঠানো; শিথিল করা”; এটি re- (“পেছনে/ফিরিয়ে”) + mittere (“পাঠানো”) অংশ থেকে গঠিত।
Definition
Remittances are sums of money sent (usually by wire, bank transfer, mobile money, or other channels) from one place to another—commonly by migrant workers to support family members back home; the term can refer both to the act of sending and to the money sent.
রেমিট্যান্স হলো এক স্থান থেকে অন্য স্থানে পাঠানো অর্থের পরিমাণ—সাধারণত প্রবাসী কর্মীরা দেশে থাকা পরিবারকে সহায়তা করতে ব্যাংক/ওয়্যার/মোবাইল মানি ইত্যাদি মাধ্যমে টাকা পাঠান; শব্দটি অর্থ পাঠানোর প্রক্রিয়া এবং পাঠানো অর্থ—উভয় অর্থেই ব্যবহৃত হয়।
