reedy বিশেষণ (অর্থ: ‘খাগড়ার মতো’; পরে ‘পাতলা/উঁচু স্বরের’ অর্থেও) থেকে reed + -y গঠিত; এরপর গুণবাচক বিশেষ্য-সূচক প্রত্যয় -ness যোগে reediness।
Definition
Reediness is the quality of being reedy—either a thin, high, slightly vibrating sound (especially a voice or instrument tone) or a slender, wiry, reed-like look or texture.
Reediness বলতে বোঝায় ‘রিডি’ হওয়ার গুণ—অর্থাৎ পাতলা, উঁচু স্বরের সামান্য কাঁপুনি-ধরনের শব্দ (বিশেষত কণ্ঠস্বর বা বাদ্যযন্ত্রের টোন) অথবা আকার-গঠনে/টেক্সচারে নলখাগড়ার মতো সরু, তারের মতো শীর্ণ ভাব।
