Origin & History
From rampant (originally in heraldry meaning ‘rearing up’), from Old French rampant, present participle of ramper ‘to climb, creep’; later developed the sense ‘unrestrained, spreading unchecked’, with the abstract noun suffix -cy forming rampancy.
rampancy এসেছে rampant থেকে (প্রথমে হেরাল্ড্রিতে ‘দাঁড়িয়ে ওঠা/উত্থিত ভঙ্গি’ অর্থে), যা পুরনো ফরাসি rampant এবং ক্রিয়া ramper (‘আরোহন করা, হামাগুড়ি দিয়ে এগোনো’) থেকে উদ্ভূত; পরে ‘অনিয়ন্ত্রিত/লাগামহীনভাবে ছড়ানো’ অর্থ বিকশিত হয়, এবং -cy প্রত্যয় যোগে বিমূর্ত বিশেষ্য rampancy গঠিত হয়েছে।
