Origin & History
From pyro- (“fire”) + -type (“impression, print”), coined in the context of nineteenth-century photomechanical printing to name a heat/etch-based typographic image process and its product.

Definition
Pyrotype is a historical printing/photographic term for a process and the resulting print made from a relief metal plate produced by etching (commonly zinc) and then inked and printed, often based on a photographic image.
পাইরোটাইপ হলো ঐতিহাসিক মুদ্রণ/আলোকচিত্র-সম্পর্কিত একটি পরিভাষা—এক ধরনের প্রক্রিয়া এবং সেই প্রক্রিয়ায় তৈরি ছাপা ছবি; সাধারণত (জিঙ্ক) ধাতব পাতকে খোদাই/এচিং করে উঁচু-নিচু (রিলিফ) ছবি বানানো হয়, তারপর তাতে কালি লাগিয়ে ছাপা হয়—প্রায়ই ফটোগ্রাফিক ছবির ভিত্তিতে।
