Punctuates বলতে লিখিত লেখায় কমা, দাড়ি ইত্যাদি যতিচিহ্ন যোগ করে বাক্য/অর্থকে স্পষ্ট করা বোঝায়; আবার কোনো বক্তব্য/ঘটনা/কাজকে বিরতিতে বিরতিতে উল্লেখযোগ্য ঘটনা, মন্তব্য বা জোর দিয়ে থামিয়ে বা চিহ্নিত করাকেও বোঝায়।
