From Latin profunditas, from profundus (“deep”), via Middle French profundité; the sense is both literal depth and figurative depth of thought.
লাতিন profunditas (profundus অর্থ “গভীর”) থেকে; মধ্য ফরাসি profundité হয়ে ইংরেজিতে এসেছে—অর্থে শাব্দিক ‘অতল গভীরতা’ এবং রূপক ‘চিন্তার গভীরতা/অন্তর্দৃষ্টি’—দুটিই বোঝায়।
Definition
Profundity refers to (1) the state of being profound or hard to fully understand, (2) great depth (e.g., of an ocean or abyss), and (3) deep intellect or insight in ideas, writing, or speech.
Profundity বলতে বোঝায় (১) প্রগাঢ়/দুর্বোধ্য হওয়ার অবস্থা, (২) অত্যন্ত গভীরতা (যেমন সমুদ্র বা অতল গহ্বরের), এবং (৩) ধারণা, লেখা বা কথায় গভীর বুদ্ধিমত্তা ও অন্তর্দৃষ্টি।
