Origin & History

From French précis (“precise; a précis/summary”), ultimately from Latin praecīsus (“cut short, shortened”), from praecīdere (“to cut off”).

ফরাসি précis (“নির্ভুল; সংক্ষিপ্তসার”) থেকে; মূলত লাতিন praecīsus (“কেটে ছোট করা/সংক্ষিপ্ত করা”), যা praecīdere (“কেটে ফেলা/কেটে বাদ দেওয়া”) থেকে এসেছে।

‘প্রেসি’ হলো কোনো দীর্ঘ লেখা/বক্তৃতা/নথির মূল বক্তব্য অক্ষুণ্ণ রেখে সংক্ষিপ্ত ও নির্ভুল সারসংক্ষেপ; ক্রিয়া হিসেবে এর অর্থ হলো এমন সারসংক্ষেপ লেখা বা তৈরি করা।
