Definition
A polycrystal is a material made up of numerous crystallites (grains) joined together; each grain is a crystal but their orientations differ, and the boundaries between them affect properties such as strength, conductivity, and diffusion.
পলিক্রিস্টাল হলো এমন একটি পদার্থ যা বহু সংখ্যক ক্ষুদ্র স্ফটিক-কণা (গ্রেইন/ক্রিস্টালাইট) একত্রে যুক্ত হয়ে গঠিত; প্রতিটি কণাই স্ফটিক হলেও তাদের অভিমুখ (orientation) ভিন্ন হতে পারে, এবং কণাসীমা (grain boundary) শক্তি, পরিবাহিতা ও বিসরণ (diffusion) ইত্যাদি ধর্মে প্রভাব ফেলে।
