From Modern Latin pleuritis, from Greek pleurítis (inflammation of the side/pleura), based on pleurá ‘side, rib; pleura’.

Definition
Pleuritis is inflammation of the pleura, the thin membranes lining the chest cavity and covering the lungs; it commonly causes pleuritic (sharp) chest pain that is worse on deep breathing, coughing, or sneezing, and may occur with infection, pulmonary embolism, autoimmune disease, or chest injury.
প্লিউরাইটিস হলো প্লিউরা (বক্ষগহ্বরের ভিতর ও ফুসফুসকে আবৃত করা পাতলা ঝিল্লি)-এর প্রদাহ; এতে সাধারণত তীক্ষ্ণ/ছুঁচফোঁড়ার মতো বুকে ব্যথা হয় যা গভীর শ্বাস নেওয়া, কাশি বা হাঁচিতে বাড়ে; এটি সংক্রমণ, পালমোনারি এম্বোলিজম, অটোইমিউন রোগ বা বক্ষ আঘাতের সাথে হতে পারে।
