Origin & History
From perspectivism + the agent suffix -ist; perspectivism is based on Latin perspectiva (“science of optics; perspective, a way of seeing”), from perspicere (“to look through, to see clearly”).
‘perspectivism’ শব্দে -ist যোগ হয়ে গঠিত; ‘perspectivism’ এসেছে ল্যাটিন perspectiva (“অপটিক্সের বিদ্যা; পার্সপেক্টিভ/দৃষ্টিপাত, দেখার ভঙ্গি”) থেকে, যা আবার perspicere (“ভেতর দিয়ে দেখা, স্পষ্ট দেখা”) থেকে উদ্ভূত।
Definition
A perspectivist argues that what we call 'truth' or 'meaning' is shaped by the observer’s standpoint (such as culture, values, interests, historical situation), so different viewpoints can yield different—sometimes equally valid—interpretations.
