From personification (Middle English), via Old French personification, from Latin persona (“person”) + -ficare (“to make”) + -tion (“action/result”); personifications is the plural form.
personification শব্দটি মধ্য ইংরেজি হয়ে প্রাচীন ফরাসি personification থেকে এসেছে; মূল লাতিন persona (“ব্যক্তি”) + -ficare (“করা/বানানো”) + -tion (“ক্রিয়া/ফল”)। personifications হলো তার বহুবচন রূপ।
Definition
Personifications refers to multiple instances of personification—either (a) people/things that embody a particular quality (e.g., “the personification of courage”), or (b) the figure of speech where a non-human object/idea is described as if it were human, or (c) artworks that depict an abstract idea as a human figure.
personifications বলতে personification-এর একাধিক দৃষ্টান্ত বোঝায়—(ক) কোনো গুণ/ধারণাকে具রূপে ধারণকারী ব্যক্তি/বস্তু (যেমন, “সাহসের মূর্ত প্রতীক”), (খ) অলঙ্কার/সাহিত্যিক কৌশল যাতে জড়বস্তু বা ধারণাকে মানুষের মতো গুণ দেওয়া হয়, অথবা (গ) শিল্পে কোনো বিমূর্ত ভাবকে মানব-আকারে উপস্থাপন।
