From patri- ‘father’ + local, used in anthropology to describe residence after marriage with the husband’s paternal family; ultimately from Latin pater ‘father’ and locus ‘place’.

Definition
Patrilocal describes a marriage-residence pattern in which a married couple lives with, or close to, the husband’s father’s family (the paternal household), often as part of a patrilineal kinship system.
Patrilocal বলতে বিবাহ-পরবর্তী বাসস্থান-রীতি বোঝায় যেখানে দম্পতি স্বামীর পিতার পরিবারের (পিতৃকুলের গৃহ/পরিবার) সঙ্গে বা তার কাছাকাছি থাকে; এটি প্রায়ই পিতৃতান্ত্রিক/পিতৃবংশীয় আত্মীয়তা ব্যবস্থার সঙ্গে সম্পর্কিত।
