From Middle English pasture (noun) and pasturen (verb), from Old French pasture, from Latin pastura and pascere (“to feed, graze”). “Pasturing” is formed by adding -ing to “pasture.”

Pasturing means allowing animals (such as cows, sheep, or goats) to graze in a field, or using land for grazing, often as part of livestock farming.
