From parasitic + -ally; parasitic derives from Greek parasitos (“one who eats at another’s table”), later Latin parasitus, then English.
‘parasitic’ শব্দের সঙ্গে -ally যোগে গঠিত; ‘parasitic’ এসেছে গ্রিক parasitos (অর্থ: অন্যের টেবিলে খেয়ে বাঁচে এমন ব্যক্তি) → পরে লাতিন parasitus → সেখান থেকে ইংরেজিতে।
Definition
In a way that depends on a host or another system for nourishment, support, or advantage, often harming or draining it; can be literal (biology) or figurative (social/economic dependence).
এমনভাবে যা কোনো পোষক (host) বা অন্য কোনো ব্যবস্থা/ব্যক্তির ওপর খাদ্য, সহায়তা বা সুবিধার জন্য নির্ভর করে এবং সাধারণত তাকে ক্ষতি করে বা নিঃশেষ করে; অর্থটি আক্ষরিক (জীববিজ্ঞান) বা রূপক (সামাজিক/অর্থনৈতিক নির্ভরতা) দু’ভাবেই হতে পারে।
