মধ্য ইংরেজি parable থেকে; পুরাতন ফরাসি parabole হয়ে; লাতিন parabola, এবং গ্রিক parabolē (অর্থ: ‘তুলনা/উপমা, সাদৃশ্য’) থেকে উদ্ভূত।
Definition
Parables are brief stories used to teach a lesson—commonly about morals, ethics, or religious truths—by using comparisons, symbols, or everyday situations rather than direct instruction.
Parable (উপমা-কথা/দৃষ্টান্তমূলক গল্প) হলো সংক্ষিপ্ত কাহিনি, যা তুলনা, প্রতীক বা দৈনন্দিন ঘটনার মাধ্যমে সরাসরি উপদেশ না দিয়ে নৈতিক/ধর্মীয় শিক্ষাকে বোঝায়।
