Formed in modern English from over- (“excessively”) + descriptiveness (“the quality of being descriptive”), with the noun-forming suffix -ness.
আধুনিক ইংরেজিতে over- (অর্থ: ‘অতিরিক্তভাবে’) + descriptiveness (অর্থ: ‘বর্ণনামূলক হওয়ার গুণ’) থেকে -ness প্রত্যয় যোগে গঠিত।
Definition
Overdescriptiveness is the habit or quality of using too many descriptive details, often making speech or writing wordy, slow, or unclear. It can reduce readability by burying the main point under unnecessary description.
অতিবর্ণনাশীলতা হলো প্রয়োজনের চেয়ে বেশি বর্ণনামূলক বিস্তারিত যোগ করার অভ্যাস বা গুণ, যার ফলে কথা বা লেখা অনর্থক দীর্ঘ, ধীরগতির বা অস্পষ্ট হয়ে যেতে পারে। এতে মূল বক্তব্যটি অপ্রয়োজনীয় বর্ণনার নিচে চাপা পড়ে পাঠযোগ্যতা কমে যায়।
