From oscillograph + -y, ultimately from Latin oscillare (“to swing”) and Greek -graphia (“writing/recording”).

Definition
Oscillography is the technique of capturing and displaying oscillations—especially electrical waveforms—so they can be analyzed for amplitude, frequency, timing, and transient behavior (e.g., in power systems and electronics).
দোলনচিত্রবিদ্যা (অসিলোগ্রাফি) হলো দোলন বা দ্রুত পরিবর্তনশীল (বিশেষ করে বৈদ্যুতিক) সংকেতকে রেকর্ড করে গ্রাফ/তরঙ্গরূপ হিসেবে প্রদর্শনের পদ্ধতি, যাতে বিস্তার, কম্পাঙ্ক, সময়-সম্পর্ক এবং ক্ষণস্থায়ী পরিবর্তন (ট্রান্সিয়েন্ট) বিশ্লেষণ করা যায় (যেমন বিদ্যুৎ ব্যবস্থা ও ইলেকট্রনিক্সে)।
