From Late Latin numeratio (a counting, numbering), from Latin numerare (“to count”), from numerus (“number”).
লেট ল্যাটিন numeratio (‘গণনা/সংখ্যায়ন’) থেকে; যা ল্যাটিন numerare (‘গণনা করা’) এবং numerus (‘সংখ্যা’) শব্দমূল থেকে উদ্ভূত।
Definition
Numeration refers to (1) the act or process of counting and assigning numbers (enumeration/numbering), and (2) a method or system for naming and writing numbers (such as decimal or Roman numerals).
Numeration বলতে (১) গণনা করা ও সংখ্যায়িত করার প্রক্রিয়া (enumeration/numbering) এবং (২) সংখ্যা প্রকাশ/লেখার নামকরণ-পদ্ধতি বা সংখ্যা-পদ্ধতি (যেমন দশমিক বা রোমান সংখ্যা) বোঝায়।
