Origin & History
Formed in modern English from the prefix non- (“not”) + vegetative (from Latin vegetativus, from vegetare “to enliven, to grow”).
আধুনিক ইংরেজিতে non- (“না/অ-”) উপসর্গ + vegetative (লাতিন vegetativus; vegetare “জীবন্ত করা/বাড়তে থাকা”) থেকে গঠিত।
Definition
Not involving vegetation or plant growth; also used (less commonly) to mean not pertaining to the involuntary bodily functions or the vegetative state.
উদ্ভিদের বৃদ্ধি/উদ্ভিদসংক্রান্ত বিষয় জড়িত নয়; কম প্রচলিতভাবে, দেহের স্বায়ত্ত (অনৈচ্ছিক) কার্যাবলি বা ‘ভেজিটেটিভ স্টেট’-সংক্রান্ত নয়—এমন অর্থেও ব্যবহৃত হয়।
