Nonthermal বলতে এমন কোনো প্রক্রিয়া/প্রভাব/প্রতিক্রিয়া/শক্তি-স্থানান্তরকে বোঝায় যা তাপের ওপর নির্ভর করে না বা উল্লেখযোগ্য তাপমাত্রা-বৃদ্ধি ঘটায় না; পদার্থবিজ্ঞান, রসায়ন, প্লাজমা বিজ্ঞান ও প্রকৌশলে এটি বেশি ব্যবহৃত (যেমন nonthermal plasma, nonthermal radiation)।
