Formed from non- (“not”) + ruminant (from Latin ruminare “to chew cud”).
non- (“না/অ-”) উপসর্গ + ruminant (লাতিন ruminare “জাবর কাটা/জাবর চিবানো” থেকে) মিলিয়ে গঠিত।
Definition
A nonruminant is an animal (such as a pig, horse, dog, or human) that digests food without regurgitating and rechewing it (cud), unlike ruminants such as cattle, sheep, goats, and deer.
ননরুমিন্যান্ট হলো এমন প্রাণী (যেমন শূকর, ঘোড়া, কুকুর বা মানুষ) যে খাবার উগরে এনে (কাড/জাবর) পুনরায় চিবিয়ে খায় না এবং রুমিন্যান্টদের (যেমন গরু, ভেড়া, ছাগল, হরিণ) মতো বহু-কক্ষবিশিষ্ট পাকস্থলীও থাকে না।
