Formed in modern technical English from the prefix non- (“not”) + rotation (from Latin rotatio, from rotare “to turn/roll”).
আধুনিক প্রাযুক্তিক ইংরেজিতে non- (‘না/অ-’) উপসর্গ + rotation (লাতিন rotatio, rotare ‘ঘোরা/গড়ানো’ থেকে) মিলিয়ে গঠিত।
Definition
Nonrotation refers to a state in which an object, system, or body does not turn around an axis (i.e., it has no rotational motion or angular velocity); the term is used in contexts such as physics, engineering, mechanics, and sometimes geology/astronomy to contrast with rotation.
ননরোটেশন বলতে এমন একটি অবস্থা বোঝায় যেখানে কোনো বস্তু, ব্যবস্থা বা দেহ কোনো অক্ষকে কেন্দ্র করে ঘোরে না (অর্থাৎ এতে ঘূর্ণনগত গতি বা কৌণিক বেগ নেই); পদটি পদার্থবিদ্যা, প্রকৌশল, যান্ত্রিকবিদ্যা এবং কখনও ভূতত্ত্ব/জ্যোতির্বিদ্যার প্রসঙ্গে ঘূর্ণনের বিপরীতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
