Formed from non- + proportion + -al + -ly; based on Latin proportio (“comparative relation, ratio”). Attested in technical writing in the 19th–20th centuries.
non- + proportion + -al + -ly উপসর্গ-প্রত্যয় যোগে গঠিত; মূলত লাতিন proportio (“তুলনামূলক সম্পর্ক, অনুপাত”) শব্দ থেকে উদ্ভূত। ১৯–২০শ শতকে কারিগরি/প্রযুক্তিগত লেখায় ব্যবহার প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়।
Definition
Used to describe an action, change, or relationship where one quantity does not increase or decrease in the same ratio as another. Often used in mathematics, statistics, science, and economics to contrast with proportional change.
এমনভাবে ব্যবহৃত হয় যাতে বোঝায় কোনো কাজ, পরিবর্তন বা সম্পর্ক “সমানুপাতিক” নয়—অর্থাৎ একটি পরিমাণ বাড়া-কমা অন্যটির সঙ্গে একই অনুপাতে বা স্থির অনুপাতে ঘটে না। গণিত, পরিসংখ্যান, বিজ্ঞান ও অর্থনীতিতে সমানুপাতিক পরিবর্তনের বিপরীতে এই শব্দটি বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
