non- (“না/অ-”) উপসর্গ + fermenting (ferment ক্রিয়ার বর্তমান ক্রিয়াবিশেষণ), যার উৎস লাতিন fermentum (“খামির/গাঁজন”)।

Not producing fermentation or not undergoing the process in which microorganisms convert sugars into alcohol, acids, and gases; used especially of bacteria, beverages, or substrates that do not ferment specific sugars.
