From non- + descript (from Latin describere “to describe”); originally meaning “not described,” later extended to “having no distinct features.”
non- (না/অ-) + descript (লাতিন describere—‘বর্ণনা করা’ থেকে); প্রথমে অর্থ ছিল ‘বর্ণিত নয়’, পরে অর্থ প্রসারিত হয়ে দাঁড়ায় ‘স্বতন্ত্র বৈশিষ্ট্যহীন/চোখে না-পড়া’।
Definition
Nondescript describes someone or something that does not stand out—plain, ordinary, and hard to describe because it has no special identifying features. It can also be used as a noun for an unremarkable person/thing, or (in scientific contexts) for a creature/species not yet formally described.
