Formed in modern English from the prefix non- ('not') + corrective ('serving to correct'), from Latin corrigere ('to set right, correct').
আধুনিক ইংরেজিতে non- (‘না/অ-’) উপসর্গ + corrective (‘সংশোধনমূলক’) থেকে গঠিত; corrective এসেছে লাতিন corrigere (‘ঠিক করা/সংশোধন করা’) থেকে।
