Formed in modern English from the prefix non- (“not”) + supportive (“providing support”), ultimately from support (from Old French supporter, from Latin supportare “to carry up, sustain”).
আধুনিক ইংরেজিতে non- (“না/বিহীন”) উপসর্গ + supportive (“সমর্থন প্রদানকারী”) থেকে গঠিত; supportive এসেছে support শব্দ থেকে, যার শিকড় প্রাচীন ফরাসি supporter এবং লাতিন supportare (“উঁচু করে ধরা/ধারণ করা, টিকিয়ে রাখা”)।
