non- (অর্থ ‘না/বিহীন’) + operculate (অর্থ ‘অপারকুলামযুক্ত’); operculate এসেছে লাতিন operculum (‘ঢাকনা/আবরণ’) থেকে, যা operire (‘ঢাকা’) ধাতু থেকে উদ্ভূত।
Definition
Describing an organism or structure that does not possess an operculum—i.e., no lid-like cover that closes an opening (as in certain shells, spores/capsules, or anatomical openings).
