Origin & History
Formed by adding the prefix non- (“not”) to gnostic (from Greek gnōstikos “able to know,” from gnōsis “knowledge”); used especially in religious-history contexts to contrast with Gnosticism.
gnostic শব্দের আগে non- (“না/বিরোধী”) উপসর্গ যোগ করে গঠিত; gnostic এসেছে গ্রিক gnōstikos (“জানতে সক্ষম”), gnōsis (“জ্ঞান”) থেকে। বিশেষত ধর্ম-ইতিহাসে গ্নস্টিসিজমের বিপরীতে বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত।
Definition
Describing a person, idea, text, or tradition that does not follow Gnosticism or does not claim special “gnosis” (esoteric spiritual knowledge) as the basis of salvation or truth.
