From French nénuphar, ultimately from Arabic nīlūfar (water lily), from Persian nīlūfar.
ফরাসি nénuphar থেকে এসেছে; এর উৎস আরবি nīlūfar (জলশাপলা/ওয়াটার লিলি), যা পারসিয়ান nīlūfar থেকে উদ্ভূত।
Definition
Nenuphar is a floating aquatic plant commonly called a water lily, especially the yellow water-lily with round leaves and cup-shaped yellow flowers found in ponds, lakes, and slow rivers.
নেনুফার হলো ভাসমান জলজ উদ্ভিদ, সাধারণভাবে জলশাপলা/ওয়াটার লিলি নামে পরিচিত—বিশেষ করে হলুদ জলশাপলা (Nuphar গণ), যার গোলাকার পাতা ও পেয়ালা-আকৃতির হলুদ ফুল থাকে এবং পুকুর, হ্রদ ও ধীরগতির নদীতে জন্মায়।
