Definition

Nemesis refers to a long-standing, formidable enemy or rival, and more broadly to a person/thing that causes someone’s downfall; it can also mean unavoidable, deserved punishment or the idea of retributive justice.

Nemesis বলতে সাধারণত এমন এক প্রবল ও দীর্ঘদিনের শত্রু/প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বীকে বোঝায়, যে কারও পতনের কারণ হয়; আরও বিস্তৃত অর্থে এটি ন্যায্য প্রতিশোধ/প্রতিফল (retribution) বা এড়ানো যায় না এমন প্রাপ্য শাস্তিকেও বোঝাতে পারে।
