লাতিন negatio (“অস্বীকার”) থেকে, যা এসেছে negare (“অস্বীকার করা”) ক্রিয়া থেকে; মধ্য ফরাসি negation হয়ে ইংরেজিতে প্রবেশ করেছে।
Definition
“Negations” is the plural form of “negation.” It refers to (1) acts of saying or showing that something is not true or not accepted, (2) denials or contradictions, and (3) in formal logic, statements produced by applying NOT (¬) to another statement (e.g., “not P”), as well as the operation that creates such a statement.
“Negations” হলো “negation” শব্দের বহুবচন। এটি বোঝায় (১) কোনো কিছুকে সত্য নয়/গ্রহণযোগ্য নয় বলে নাকচ করার কাজ, (২) অস্বীকার বা বিরোধিতা, এবং (৩) আনুষ্ঠানিক যুক্তিবিদ্যায়, অন্য কোনো প্রস্তাবে NOT (¬) প্রয়োগ করে তৈরি করা নিষেধ-প্রস্তাব (যেমন “not P”), এবং এমন প্রস্তাব তৈরি করার যৌক্তিক ক্রিয়াকলাপ।
