Formed from mycorrhiza (from Greek mykēs ‘fungus’ + rhiza ‘root’) + the English verb-forming suffix -ize, meaning ‘to cause to become / to treat with’.
mycorrhiza শব্দটি গ্রিক mykēs (‘ছত্রাক’) + rhiza (‘শিকড়’) থেকে এসেছে; এর সঙ্গে ইংরেজি ক্রিয়া-গঠনকারী প্রত্যয় -ize যোগ করে শব্দটি তৈরি, যার অর্থ ‘কোনো কিছুকে এমন করা/এভাবে প্রক্রিয়াকরণ করা’।
Definition
To mycorrhize means to introduce or allow mycorrhizal fungi to colonize a plant’s roots so the plant and fungus form a mutually beneficial (symbiotic) partnership, often improving nutrient and water uptake.
mycorrhize বলতে বোঝায় উদ্ভিদের শিকড়ে মাইকোরাইজা ছত্রাককে বসতি স্থাপন (কলোনাইজ) করতে দেওয়া বা ইচ্ছাকৃতভাবে সংক্রমিত করা, যাতে উদ্ভিদ ও ছত্রাকের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক উপকারী (সহবাসী) সম্পর্ক গড়ে ওঠে এবং সাধারণত পুষ্টি ও জল শোষণ ক্ষমতা বাড়ে।
