Definition
“Mouthed” is used mainly as the past tense/past participle of the verb “mouth”: (1) to say or utter words (often in a showy or insincere way), (2) to form words silently with lip movements, or (3) to pick up/handle something with the lips or mouth (e.g., a fish testing bait). It can also be an adjective in compounds meaning “having a particular kind of mouth” (e.g., round-mouthed).
