Definition

Mola refers mainly to (1) a traditional textile art of the Kuna (Guna) people of Panama and Colombia, made as decorative cloth panels with layered fabric cut away to create intricate designs (reverse appliqué), often worn on blouses; and (2) the ocean sunfish species Mola mola.
