Definition
To modalize means to recast a melody, harmony, language form, or analysis so that it follows or emphasizes a particular mode (e.g., Dorian, Phrygian), rather than a strictly major/minor tonal system; it can also mean applying modal concepts (possibility/necessity) in analysis depending on context.
Modalize বলতে কোনো সুর, হারমনি, ভাষার রূপ, বা বিশ্লেষণকে এমনভাবে রূপান্তর/উপস্থাপন করা বোঝায় যাতে তা নির্দিষ্ট কোনো ‘মোড’ (যেমন ডোরিয়ান, ফ্রিজিয়ান) অনুসরণ করে বা সেই মোডকে জোর দেয়—শুধু মেজর/মাইনর টোনাল ব্যবস্থার মধ্যে না থেকে; প্রসঙ্গভেদে বিশ্লেষণে ‘মোডাল’ ধারণা (সম্ভাবনা/আবশ্যকতা) প্রয়োগ করাকেও বোঝাতে পারে।
