Definition
A miaphysite is a Christian (often associated with the Oriental Orthodox tradition) who affirms that Christ has one composite/united nature—divine and human together—in the one person of Jesus Christ, rejecting both the idea of two separated natures and the idea that the human nature is absorbed or confused into the divine.
মিয়াফাইসাইট বলতে এমন একজন খ্রিস্টানকে বোঝায় (প্রায়ই ওরিয়েন্টাল অর্থোডক্স ধারার সঙ্গে যুক্ত) যিনি বিশ্বাস করেন যে যিশু খ্রিস্টের এক ব্যক্তিত্বে একটি যৌগিক/ঐক্যবদ্ধ ‘এক’ প্রকৃতি আছে—যেখানে ঈশ্বরীয় ও মানবীয় উভয়ই একত্রে আছে—এবং তিনি একদিকে দুইটি বিচ্ছিন্ন প্রকৃতির ধারণা, অন্যদিকে মানব প্রকৃতির ঈশ্বরীয় প্রকৃতিতে বিলীন/গোলমাল হয়ে যাওয়ার ধারণা—দু’টিই প্রত্যাখ্যান করেন।
