Definition
In medical and surgical contexts, ‘devascularise’ means to deliberately cut off, block, or remove the blood vessels supplying a part of the body, so that blood can no longer flow to that tissue or organ. This is often done to control bleeding, remove diseased tissue, or prepare an area for further surgery.
