Origin & History
From corona + -graph (instrument for recording) + -y (process/practice); developed as a term after the invention of the coronagraph in the early 20th century.
করোনা + -গ্রাফ (লেখা/রেকর্ড করার যন্ত্রার্থক উপসর্গ) + -ই/-y (প্রক্রিয়া/চর্চা নির্দেশক প্রত্যয়) থেকে গঠিত; ২০শ শতকের শুরুতে করোনাগ্রাফ আবিষ্কারের পর এই অর্থে পরিভাষাটি প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়।
Definition
Coronagraphy is an astronomical/optical imaging method that uses a coronagraph to suppress the intense light of a star (or the Sun), allowing much dimmer surrounding structures—like the Sun’s corona or planets near other stars—to be detected and measured.
করোনাগ্রাফি হলো একটি জ্যোতির্বৈজ্ঞানিক/অপটিক্যাল ইমেজিং পদ্ধতি যেখানে করোনাগ্রাফ ব্যবহার করে নক্ষত্রের (বা সূর্যের) তীব্র আলো আড়াল/দমন করা হয়, যাতে আশপাশের অনেক ম্লান গঠন—যেমন সূর্যের করোনা বা অন্য নক্ষত্রের কাছাকাছি গ্রহ—পর্যবেক্ষণ ও পরিমাপ করা যায়।
