From Bayes + -ian + -ism, named after the English mathematician Thomas Bayes (1701–1761), referring to methods based on Bayes’ theorem; the term developed in modern statistics and philosophy of probability.
Bayes + -ian + -ism থেকে উদ্ভূত; ইংরেজ গণিতবিদ থমাস বায়েজ (১৭০১–১৭৬১)-এর নাম থেকে, বায়েজের উপপাদ্যভিত্তিক পদ্ধতিকে বোঝাতে; আধুনিক পরিসংখ্যান ও সম্ভাবনা-দর্শনে শব্দটি বিকশিত হয়।
Definition
Bayesianism is the view that probability measures rational degrees of belief (not just long-run frequencies) and that beliefs should be updated when new data arrive by applying Bayes’ theorem, combining a prior belief with the likelihood of the evidence to get a posterior belief.
বায়েজিয়ানবাদ হলো এমন একটি পরিসংখ্যানিক ও দার্শনিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি যেখানে সম্ভাবনা দীর্ঘমেয়াদি ঘনত্বের বদলে যুক্তিসংগত বিশ্বাসের মাত্রা প্রকাশ করে এবং নতুন তথ্য এলে বায়েজের উপপাদ্য প্রয়োগ করে বিশ্বাসকে হালনাগাদ করা উচিত—পূর্বধারণা (prior) ও প্রমাণের সম্ভাব্যতা (likelihood) মিলিয়ে পরবর্তী বিশ্বাস (posterior) নির্ণয় করা হয়।
