From the pattern as- + past participle (rolled), used in engineering and manufacturing to mean 'in the state resulting from a process' (e.g., as-cast, as-forged); widely used in rolling-mill and metals specifications from the 20th century onward.

রোলিং প্রক্রিয়া শেষ হওয়ার পর কোনো অতিরিক্ত প্রক্রিয়াজাতকরণ (যেমন মেশিনিং, পালিশ, পিকলিং, তাপ-প্রক্রিয়াকরণ, কোটিং ইত্যাদি) ছাড়াই যে অবস্থায় ধাতু/উপাদান থাকে তাকে বোঝায়; অর্থাৎ মিল থেকে যেমন বের হয়—সেই পৃষ্ঠ, টেক্সচার ও টলারেন্সসহ।
