Formed in modern linguistic terminology from aorist (from Greek aóristos ‘indefinite, unlimited’) + -icity (noun-forming suffix meaning ‘state/quality’).
আধুনিক ভাষাবৈজ্ঞানিক পরিভাষায় aorist (গ্রিক aóristos ‘অসুনির্দিষ্ট/অসীমিত’ থেকে) শব্দের সঙ্গে ‘অবস্থা/গুণ’ বোঝানো -icity প্রত্যয় যোগ করে গঠিত।
Definition
In linguistics, aoristicity refers to the degree to which a verb form or construction presents an event as a whole without specifying its internal duration, completion, or exact time (often associated with aorist aspect/tense).
ভাষাবিজ্ঞানে aoristicity বলতে বোঝায় কোনো ক্রিয়ার রূপ বা গঠন কতটা এমনভাবে কোনো ঘটনাকে একক সামগ্রিক হিসেবে উপস্থাপন করে যাতে তার স্থায়িত্ব, সমাপ্তি, বা সুনির্দিষ্ট সময় উল্লেখ করা হয় না (প্রায়ই aorist কাল/অ্যাসপেক্টের সঙ্গে সম্পর্কিত)।
