Origin & History
From anti- + perthitic, referring to antiperthite (the reverse of perthite), a feldspar intergrowth texture described in geological literature; ultimately from Greek anti- ‘opposite’ plus the term perthite (named after Perth, Ontario, where the texture was described).

Definition
In petrology, antiperthitic describes rocks or feldspar grains showing antiperthite texture: thin lamellae of alkali feldspar (commonly K-feldspar) exsolved within a host crystal of plagioclase; it commonly forms during slow cooling and indicates exsolution in feldspars.
